Carwarden House Community School

Student Progress

Accurate baselines and assessment are completed on entry to Carwarden and students are set challenging targets that are reviewed throughout the year.  Progress against the students’ individual EHC outcomes are also assessed and evidence of progress collected through this assessment process.

In KS3 & 4 students collect their own progress evidence in relation to their EHCP outcomes using a 'Journey to Success' journal in which they choose special pieces of work that reflect their progress and that they are particularly proud of.  This builds up a bank of evidence for the students to take into their Annual Review.  In KS5 students have target sheets as part of their personal learning folder and they are supported to use this in producing a presentation to showcase their progress at their review.

At Carwarden we strive to showcase the progress our students are making and offer a wide range of opportunities for every individual to shine and thrive.

The attached document shows our exam results for our curriculum for the last academic year, during which many students continued their recovery from the 'lockdown years' of COVID. The performance measures used are not current due to the new performance measures not being published yet by the Secretary of State.

Please see the links below for the national performance tables for Schools and Colleges and the performance table specifically for Carwarden House Community School. These compare performance across all schools so special schools are ranked against mainstream.
