Carwarden House School Uniform


School uniform is compulsory as agreed by the Governing Body. 

Great care has been taken to ensure that parents have a degree of choice. 

Parental support in this matter is appreciated.

  • Grey or black smart trousers
  • Pinafore dress or skirt in grey or black
  • White shirt, blouse or polo shirt
  • Navy Blue sweatshirt or cardigan (available from school)
  • School blazer & tie (Optional & available from school)

(NB Must be worn with white shirt or blouse NOT polo shirt)

  • Traditional black shoes (NO heels & NOT trainers)     
  • (Summer Term only) Blue & white checked summer dress     

Some stock of uniform is kept at school and orders can be placed at any time. 

All pupils must have P.E. kit:

  • Navy Shorts (available from school if required)
  • White T-shirt (available from school if required)
  • Trainers or other suitable footwear such as football boots etc., if required.
  • Black or navy tracksuit (for outdoor PE in cold weather)
  • Swim wear and towel


All items must be clearly marked with owner's name. Regular checks will be made.



  • Jeans, corduroy trousers or 'Chinos'
  • High heeled or platform shoes
  • Ear piercing only is allowed - one per lobe. Earrings must be sleeper studs only.  (All earrings must be removed for P.E. and Games in accordance with School Policy). Parents please be aware and not allow your child to have any new piercings during school term time.  Staff will not assist with the removal of studs or be responsible for their safety.
  • Jewellery is not permitted unless on religious grounds. The only jewellery permitted is a wristwatch.
  • Bleached or multi-coloured hair styles.  (Hair must be in keeping with the high standards of personal appearance expected).  Hair below the bottom of the ears and collar or grade one is not acceptable. Steps or tramlines in hair are not permitted.
  • No nail varnish or false nails are permitted.

As with school uniform, parental support for items which are not permitted is greatly appreciated.

The Headteacher is the final arbiter on the suitability of uniform and appearance.
