Year 10 Science at RHS Wisley

Year 10 Science at RHS Wisley

As part of the Year 10 Science course our students were lucky enough to take part in a workshop on plant adaptation at the Royal Horticultural Society's gardens at Wisley.

On Friday 14th November Year 10 visited RHS Wisley. The focus of the trip was to learn more about the adaptations of plants.

The group took part in a workshop where they were able to smell, taste and feel different plants. They discussed plant reproduction and everyone took a cutting and planted.

The students then planted three seeds of different types of chard, which they were allowed to take home to grow.

The group then talked about compost and its importance to the plants. The workshop then moved onto the glass houses to look at roots, cacti and plants from the rainforest.
